LRF's President
Helena Jonsson, President of the Federation of Swedish Farmers (LRF).
Helena Jonsson, born 1965, was elected president of the Federation of Swedish Farmers (LRF) at the general assembly in May 2011.
She is an organic farmer and breeds fullbred Hereford cattle and grows fodder crops together with her husband Göran. They have three children and are living at Galtås farm, outside the town Tranås, in the south of Sweden.
She has an exam as farm manager.
She took place in the board of the Federation of Swedish Farmers in 2004 and became vice president 2010.
She is also board member of the Nordic Contact Body for Agriculture and Forestry and board member of COPA since 2011.
She became adjunct board member of LRF Insurance and chairwoman of LRF´s Gender Equality Academy in 2011.
In November 2011 she was appointed by the Prime Minister to the Government's Future Commission. She is also in the reference group for the Road Map of a Sweden without climate emissions by 2050.
She was President of the Nordic Farmers’ Central Council (NBC) from May to December 2011 and thereafter a board member of the NBC.
Between 2001 and 2008 she was a board member of the LRF regional council in Jönköping and a board member of Jönköping county air quality management association between 2001 and 2006. She has also been a board member of Swedish Seal Ltd, a subsidiary of LRF, between 2005 and 2011.
Between 2006 and 2011 she was a board member of the organic certification body Krav and served as its vice president between 2009 and 2011.
